Taking Flight

Hey Beauties and happy Friday!

If you can’t tell by the title, today’s post will be all about our experience on the flight from Orlando, Florida to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on Emirates Boeing 777.

So, after getting almost no sleep the night before due to full excitement, we were all ready to head to this flight! We all skipped breakfast and our coffee, packed the trunk, loaded our kids and headed straight to the airport!

When we arrived at the airport, we were greeted kindly by some of the employees and they helped us unload our baggage from our truck. They were such a great help because I don’t know about you guys, but 2 toddlers in a stroller and luggage? Not a very easy task. Haha. Once we presented our tickets and passports, went through TSA, we were very hungry! Luckily there was a Burger King and it wasn’t badly priced considering it was in the airport where everything is expensive. My experience with the security check and everything was pretty great because we made sure to follow all the rules.

After our brunch/more of a lunch, we headed off to our gate to turn in our strollers and we let the kids run and get their wiggles out. They loved being able to run and the greatest part was that our gate wasn’t very full of people which is always nice when you have kids. We took potty breaks and before we knew it we were boarding the flight!

Not only were the kids excited, but my husband and I was also excited! We were in economy, but the best part was our seats. Although we were in economy, we had seats with more leg room which was AMAZING! It helped out so much. We were in row 17 which is the row right behind business class. The only thing separating us from business class was a curtain.

The flight attendants were awesome and so accommodating to the kids. They were greeted with a soft blanket, animal friends, activity kits, etc… We got our lunch menus quickly after taking off and the food came back pretty quick. I loved the snacks, desserts, and meals they gave adults as well as kids. The meals were delicious and I loved that they offered coffee or tea after you’ve had your meal which was so kind. The only downside to mealtime is having to wait a long time for the flight attendants to take back the trays mainly because my son’s seat was on my lap and he would get quite uncomfortable with the table being folded out. My husband found a quick solution and put my tray on his. 🙂

After lunch, my son fell asleep and my daughter was so occupied with all the movies, games, activities, unlimited snacks and drinks, toys that she didn’t even realize it was time for her to go to bed. Haha. When she fell asleep, she took a mini nap before she woke up to a snack sized pizza! She was so excited and my husband and I were excited as well because pizza and a movie?! You can’t go wrong. The service, hospitality, kindness, etc… from the flight attendants were very much appreciated being that it was the first time we’ve all been on a big international flight. There was even a time that my son got super fussy and the flight attendant offered me warm milk for him which was beyond kind.

The view from the window seat was absolutely breathtaking. The water was so blue, the mountains were so high and it made me appreciate nature even more.

It wasn’t long before we landed in Dubai for our 9 hour layover.

I was grateful because Emirates provided a hotel for us because our layover was for more than 8 hours! We were taken to the hotel from the airport free of charge and it literally took 2 minutes to reach. The rooms were super clean and the check in was so fast. We all showered, freshened up and stretched our legs out which was well needed. Just when we thought the layover couldn’t be better, we were told if we present out boarding passes, we would gain entry to a buffet for free!!!!

The buffet was huge and the food was beyond delicious. I wanted to try EVERYTHING because it all looked so yummy. Haha. We took the shuttle back to the airport and boarded onto our flight from Dubai to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia! The flight there was really quick and the food was once again amazing and a lot more Asian styled dishes. We were all excited to reach Malaysia because we couldn’t wait to explore.

6 hours later and we reached Kuala Lumpur!

I hope you all enjoyed today’s post! Make sure you check back in on Monday to read all about our Malaysia experience!!

As always, thank you for reading and don’t forget to leave a comment with any suggestions you may have for future blog posts!
