I thought today would be a great day to give you guys a look at my updated skincare routine. I’ve been taking my skincare routine very seriously because I am in my 20s and I finally found great products that work with my skin.
A little bit about my skin
For starters, I’ve suffered from acne in my teenage years and now I’m left with the wonderful scars and it makes my skin look very texturized. I also have pretty large pores around my cheek area and annoying blackheads on my nose. Luckily my dark circles aren’t too bad so it’s manageable. My skin type is also Combination/Oily because my skin is pretty normal everywhere except my T-zone which is pretty oily which probably is an answer as to why I get blackheads on my nose. I also have pretty sensitive skin so I know if a product is right for me right off the bat.
I used to use the same skincare Routine for the morning and night, but I found that my skin was getting used to the products which made me begin finding separate products for my morning and night Routine. Let’s begin with my skincare Routine in the morning.
Morning Skincare Routine
I try to keep it pretty simple in the morning so I’ll remember to do my skincare Routine. I always begin any skincare Routine with splashing my face with Lukewarm water so my pores are nice and open. I then put half of a pump of this Andalou Cannacell Foaming Facewash on my fingers and apply it to my face is a circular motion. Make sure you’re gentle. After about a minute of working this into my face, I wash the facewash off with cold water.
The next thing I do after patting my skin dry is apply a Vitamin C Serum by Flower Mill. You only need about 1-2 drops and I apply this straight onto my face with the dropper. Pat it gently into the skin and take your time with this. I usually work whatever product is left on my neck in an upward motion and then wait a minute so the serum is soaked into the skin.
After any serum, I apply a cream moisturizer like the Youth to the people Superfood Air-Whipped Moisturizer. Since my T-zone can get pretty oily, I try to stick with whipped moisturizers because they don’t feel heavy on your skin. After that’s done, your morning skincare Routine is pretty much done.
Night Skincare Routine
For my night skin routine, I begin with removing my makeup with a Pampers Sensitive Baby Wipe and then remove my eye makeup with a bit of Coconut oil depending on what kind of eye makeup I wore that day. Once all of my makeup is removed, I wash my face with Shea Moistures Baby shampoo and wash. I know what you’re thinking…really? A baby wash? It really works! Trust me. I discovered this wash because whatever I put on my children’s skin, I try it on mine first and I ended up loving the way it made my skin feel. It didn’t leave it feeling dry or unclean which I loved.
After washing my face and patting it dry, I apply my Cosrx Snail Mucin and I pat it into my skin. I also apply this to my neck in an upward motion.
I then brush coconut oil through my brows, lashes and pat a bit underneath my eyes. You’ll notice a big difference in your hair growth as well as your under eyes looking nice and bright.
For my moisturizer, I use the same Youth to the people Superfood Air-Whip Moisturizer for my face and neck and whatever is left over, I rub it on my hands.
