10 Ways To Practice Self-Care

Hey guys and happy Monday!! If you’re new to my blog or returning, welcome!!

As you can tell by the title of today’s blog post, this post will be all about self-care. I’m so happy that as of late, self-care has been more popular because to often we forget to take a minute or two for ourselves.
Today I’ll be sharing a few ways that I make sure to add self-care into my daily routine. Hopefully some of these ideas help you guys because taking care of yourselves are very important.

1. Visit your doctor regularly

This may seem like such a small task, but all to often we forget this. Your health should be number one on your list this year and always.

2. Get into a routine

Sometimes having a routine alone may make you feel a lot better. It’ll give you something to look forward too and it’ll ensure that you’re doing stuff in a timely manner. This way you won’t wake up at a different time everyday and you don’t have something to look forward to.

3. Go Outside

Instead of being in your home all day, go outside for a change. Appreciate nature. Maybe going outside will inspire you to start admiring nature. Maybe it’ll inspire you to get into photography. Our Earth is so beautiful. Also, getting a daily dose of Vitamin D is so important.

4. Treat Yourself

It’s ok to treat yourself once in a while. Make a goal and if you achieve it, go out and splurge on a bag, a pair of shoes, a vacation, etc… it’s something to get you motivated which is always a nice thing.

5. Healthy Food

Eating healthy doesn’t have to be expensive or hard to do. Go on pinterest and look up some healthy recipes that you can recreate easily. It may give you a chance to try something new and you never know, maybe you were a great cook and you never knew it. Also, eating healthy can have many benefits on you and your mood.

6. Yoga or Daily Exercise

You don’t have to be the fittest person to do a simple exercise. Listen to your body and determine what works for you. Go on Youtube and look up some simple breathing exercises, Yoga exercises, or a small workout and you can get inspired and create your own little routine that you can do when you first wake up or throughout the day.

7. Go out and meet new people

Being social alone can put you in a better state of mind. Go out to the grocery store and have a conversation or you can even talk to a therapist if you’d like. There are also tons of groups on social media that hosts meet-ups which would be fun. Nobody should ever not be able to talk to someone.

8. Decorate your home

Being in a space that you made your own or that reflects positivity and happiness is very important. If you’re in a space that is dark, gloomy, boring, etc… chances are it’ll cause your mood to match. Painting your room can make a big difference. Maybe even purchase some paint brushes, paint and a canvas and create your own artwork. Want to get inspired? Go to a home décor store or go to your local farmers market. There’s always art there and maybe it’ll also get a conversation going.

9. Keep a journal

You don’t have to write a lot of a little. Write whatever you want whether it’s a though, idea, etc… it’ll help you be able to share your thoughts and document how you’re feeling. Carry it to your next doctor appointment if you need a little help communicating, but you don’t know how to.

10. Find a Hobby

Finding a hobby may sound easy, but it may be harder than it sounds. You’ll never know what you like unless you test it out. You may like stuff that you would never have thought you enjoyed. Go out and try new things. Once you get into a hobby, you’ll be able to have a moment of relaxation doing something you enjoy.
