Hey Beauties! Happy Monday. I know many of you were looking forward to a Makeup post….they’ll resume tomorrow.
I wanted to take time to talk to you guys. I’ve been blogging for almost 3 years now and I don’t believe I’ve ever shared what inspired me to start blogging. So here it goes.
A little Background…
I was born in the city that never sleeps, the place of opportunities. Also known as the place where you have to shovel snow when Winter came about.
We moved to “The Sunshine State” when I was 7 years old. Schooling was different, the weather was ridiculously hot and so on. The main difference was how quiet this place was.
Growing up, magazines were very popular. Seventeen Magazine was one of my all-time favorited because I loved the fashion and makeup looks. They were so pretty.
At about 11 years old, I would get into my mothers red lipsticks and had no idea what I was doing. I never knew what lip liner was or anything. I just knew I loved the color and the girls in the magazines used to wear it. Although…my red lipstick application never looked like theirs.
Fast forward to about 12 years old is when I discovered YouTube. These people actually created Tutorials on how to apply makeup?! They also had “Lookbooks” according to seasons?! I felt great. I’d gone back into my mother’s makeup bag and that red lipstick that never seemed to apply properly, actually worked. I started getting creative with my boring clothes. Suddenly I felt like a fashion designer.
During high school I began to find my own style. A very girly style. Dresses, skirts, floral print, peplum tops, etc… YouTube helped me alot. I upcycled my “old” pieces of clothing to “fabulous pieces. Although I never wore much makeup to school, I loved the way mascara made my eyes more awake. And a little blush for nice rosy cheeks. Maybe a light hint of color to compliment my outfits as well.
When I really started experimenting with makeup like foundations, bronzers, different eyeshadow colors, powders, etc.. I turned to YouTube or Magazines. For the longest time I had the idea that I would be a owner of a Magazine or become a youtuber. DulceCandy was literally my idol. She started off with making videos in her closet and the next thing I seen was her featured in Seventeen Magazine!
She inspired me…
One day I turned my camera on and decided to make YouTube videos. It was so cool, but I was still in high school for half of my day and college the other half. I honestly didn’t have time for YouTube so I deleted all of my videos and went back to the drawing book.
Dulce Candy made her own website that she called a “Blog” and when I visited her website, I seen great “OOTD’s” and Makeup looks.
I Need To Create My Own Website…
When I was 20 I created this Blog. The name was originally “Blossomedbeauty” because I feel like everyone is a Blossomed-Beauty. I started putting out blog posts and had no idea what I was doing. I just knew that I wanted to share my knowledge of makeup and beauty to as much people as I can. I was so lost when I discovered makeup so imagine everyone that was just as lost.
So, When You Need A Little Inspiration…
